Tilt-Shift Collision and Mechanical Rigging, 2019

3D rigging, Blender, 2019

For “Elektrum” project of studio Jauda – These guys are awesome!

Had to do a few rigs and thought I’d make them automatically ground aware, just to complicate my life :) Took some R&D, which happened to be quite thrilling. Rigs have ground collision and can tilt with slippage compensation for visual accuracy. The ground plane can be tilted/positioned as well. The rigs use no physic simulations or running scripts. Bones and mechanical constraints only.
In a second video is a demo of some of more basic mechanical rigging used in the project.

Music: “Happy Haunts” – Aaron Kenny.
